Itinerary

Day 1: Homeland – Delhi arrival & local sightseeing

Arrival at Delhi International Airport, met by an Akbran representative for the transfer and hotel check-in. The day includes a guided tour of Old Delhi — Raj Ghat, a drive past the Red Fort, and a rickshaw ride to Jama Masjid — followed by New Delhi's Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb, plus drive-past views of India Gate and the Parliament buildings, closing with a welcome dinner. Tip: if you're landing on an overnight international flight, this is a genuinely full first day — pace yourself through the afternoon sightseeing rather than trying to match your usual energy.

Day 2: Delhi to Agra (202 km / ~4 hrs)

After breakfast, the drive to Agra, followed by Agra Fort — begun by Akbar in the 1560s and later home to Shah Jahan's imprisoned final years — and, after lunch, the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, the "Baby Taj" built by Empress Nur Jahan for her father. Tip: saving the Taj Mahal itself for tomorrow's sunrise visit, rather than seeing it today, is deliberate — the early light is worth the wait.

Day 3: Agra

A sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, commissioned in 1631 and completed over 22 years by around 20,000 artisans as Shah Jahan's tribute to Mumtaz Mahal, followed by breakfast and a return visit to explore Agra Fort in more depth. The afternoon is free to explore Agra independently. Tip: security bans food, tripods, and power banks at the Taj — carry only camera and ID, and confirm your visit date doesn't fall on a Friday, when the monument is closed.

Day 4: Agra to Ranthambore, via Fatehpur Sikri

A stop at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's abandoned capital, before continuing to Ranthambore National Park — one of India's best-known tiger reserves, brought under Project Tiger's protection in 1973, and home to the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort whose ruins rise directly out of the reserve's forest and lakes. Tip: this is a genuine change of pace from the monument-heavy first three days — settle in for the evening rather than planning anything active after the drive.

Day 5: Ranthambore

A full day built around morning and afternoon jungle safaris by shared canter, subject to park rules and timing. Tigers here are often spotted resting near Padam Talab lake or moving through the ruins of the old fort — one of the few places in India where wildlife and centuries-old architecture share the same frame. Tip: safari timings shift with the season and park regulations — confirm your exact pickup times with the hotel the evening before rather than assuming a fixed schedule.

Day 6: Ranthambore to Jaipur (237 km / ~4 hrs)

The drive to Jaipur, with the rest of the evening at leisure — an optional musical dinner at The Virasat Restaurant is available at your own expense. Tip: after two active days in Ranthambore, this is a good evening to keep plans light rather than adding more sightseeing.

Day 7: Jaipur

A full day covering Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort — reached by jeep or elephant, with its mirrored Sheesh Mahal and the Ganesh Pol gateway — the City Palace Museum, and Jantar Mantar Observatory. Tip: this is the most sightseeing-dense day of the whole trip — start as early as your itinerary allows.

Day 8: Jaipur to Delhi to Homeland

After breakfast, checkout and the drive back to Delhi (roughly 260 km / 5 hours), with time at leisure before your onward transfer to the airport for your international departure. Tip: build extra buffer into this final drive if you have a tight flight connection — highway traffic on this stretch varies more than any other leg of the trip.
